To Gramma and Pappy’s I Go!

On Saturday, mama tooked me to visit Gramma and Pappy again. I love to go there! First, I have to get into da red zoomie thing. I am still not crazy about da car, even if it goes fast to take us to Pappy’s house.

On da way there, mama went through da Starbucks drive thru. I like to go there. She always gets me a puppacino. YUM!

I get so excited when we get to the driveway at Gramma and Pappy’s. I cry just like when we park at Sidewall and I know I am going to get pepperonis. Can you imagine something that’s just as exciting as pepperonis??

As soon as mama opens the zoomie’s door, I jump out and run inside to say “Hi, Hi, I’m here!” I jump and do snorts and make tail wags. I know Pappy is going to take me in the yard to sniff and pee. But before yard time I get a cookie! I know right where they keep them and remind Pappy where they are.  Mama calls them treats at home but at Pappy’s house they are COOKIES.

The yard is big and has squirrely things in the trees. I can’t catch them. But, but, but there are chipmunk things that stay on the ground! They hide under bushes and under the wood pile. One day I’m gonna catch one. They are fun to chase. When they hide under the wood pile, I dig, dig, dig until mama sees me and says, “no dig, no dig”. Sometimes hoomans just don’t understand that dig, dig is fun.

After outside play comes the good part. Supper time! Roast beef, smashed taters, and green stringy beans (Gramma puts buttery, cheesy stuff on the green stringies.) Pappy always sneaks me tastes under the table. I think mama knows but the rules aren’t the same at Pappy’s as they are at home. Thank Dog for that! I think Gramma and Pappy like me ‘cause they gived mama good leftovers for to me take home.

It’s always such a fun day at Gramma and Pappy’s but it sure makes me sleepy. Mama puts me in da red zoomie, and I do sleepies and when I wake up I know I’ll be at home and can tell Lukie about my day. After another quick nap of course…zzzz…snort.

This story was written with help from Pappy himself. Woof, Pappy! Tanks for da help!
